Academia Ageing in Place — Quiz

Designed and developed the Literacia Itinerante multi-platform gamified quiz application and central management dashboard for the Academia Ageing in Place project, empowering senior citizens with digital inclusion and essential life skills.

Key Architectural & Technical Features:

• Offline-First Tauri Monorepo: Built a cross-platform client using Tauri (Rust + React + TypeScript) running natively on Desktops (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Android Tablets. Uses an embedded SQLite database (quiz.db) for 100% offline gameplay during itinerant workshops in remote areas.
• Automated Synchronization Engine: Engineered an offline-first synchronization system that queues quiz session results locally in SQLite and automatically syncs with the central cloud backend whenever network connectivity is re-established.
• Central Admin Dashboard & Node.js API: Developed a Vite + React administration dashboard powered by a Node.js Express REST API, Prisma ORM, and PostgreSQL containerized via Docker to manage questions, themes, visual assets, and session analytics.
• Senior-Accessible UX/UI: Designed high-contrast, large touch-target interfaces tailored specifically for senior learners with customizable avatar profiles.
• Multi-Domain Literacy Modules: Interactive quiz modules covering Digital Literacy (Literacia Digital), Financial Literacy (Literacia Financeira), Home Management (Gestão Doméstica), Health (Saúde), and Nutrition (Nutrição).
• Instant Feedback & Gamified Scoring: Real-time timer countdowns, contextual answer explanations, score percentages, and celebration award popups.
