Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Canvas provide foundational capabilities for course administration, but often lack rich, domain-specific interactive learning tools—such as automated code evaluators, gamification engines, or interactive diagram editors. This paper explores interoperability protocols and architectural patterns (including LTI—Learning Tools Interoperability) for integrating external rich learning applications into LMS environments. We demonstrate how standardized launch, authentication, and gradebook synchronization protocols enable seamless, secure integration without custom LMS modifications.
