Abstract
Handwriting is a complex perceptual-motor and cognitive skill essential for literacy and educational development. HandSpy 2.3 is an empirical research platform that logs real-time pen strokes, pressure, and pause durations during writing and spelling tasks on digital tablets. This paper details the software architecture, data collection protocol, automated dictionary matching for spelling error categorization, and analyst workflows implemented in HandSpy 2.3 to support cognitive studies on writing acquisition.
